Terminology Update Effective July 1, 2026: “Family day home” will become “home-based child care,” and “family day system” will become “home-based child care system.” These changes are required by House Bill 258. Both the old and new terms will appear interchangeably while all resources are updated. See the 2026 Legislation Implementation memo for details.
